I started modelling when I found I could spend my pocket money on a plastic bag with bits of aeroplane in it in “Woollies”, bought in the morning made by tea-time. Now it takes a lot longer and cost more than pocket money.
I mainly make post war 1/48 aircraft but anything that captures the imagination I will have a go at. I stay with this era because it is what I am most familiar with having spent 47 years as an aircraft engineer both military and civil, I think I have a pretty good idea of what an aircraft is supposed to look like and what the bits are and do.
I like to build accurate replicas so research is the key (They might not be built as well as I would like, but they are accurate).
I don’t go in much for these “pretty” models that have been weathered unnaturally the right amount of weathering in the right place is fine by me, still each to their own.
Modelling is supposed to be fun! So enjoy.
